Easy enough right? It is a simple birthday treat, it's just that ice cream cakes are so pricy! for the cost of an ice cream cake, i could have gotten the person a really awesome gift or saved some money.....so that's what i did.
What you need:
1 box of orange cake mix (and the ingredients required for it) (eggs, water, oil)
Vanilla Ice Cream
Topping options: powdered sugar
First, make the cake (following the directions on the back of the box) and let it cool.
Then, cut the cake in half long ways and scoop out the center on both the top and bottom half about 2 inches wide. (do not get to close to the sides)
Next, fill the holes (both top and bottom) with softened vanilla ice cream.
Put the top on the bottom, and wrap in saran wrap and put in the freezer for at least two hours.
Take it out of the freezer at least 30 min before serving.
Finally, add a topping and serve.
